It hit me yesterday really. My cousin and I were discussing it, and it just motivated me to make this happen.
After winning the CS5 Master Suite last year, I was lost amongst the vast majority of the apps included, I focused primarily on Photoshop and Illustrator. But now, I’m able to add Flash to that list.
That’s right everyone. I’m planning on making a RPG game.
I feel like it’s an impossible dream, but in actuality, after doing research all morning, I can only conclude even I, with the most simple understanding of the Flash world, can do this. The story, characters, and everything else that would be included in this game are under heavy development, heck, I only thought of it yesterday! But I’m really motivated to give it a try!
Now I’m not one to be known for finishing projects I start. My friends can easily list off at least five projects I have scrapped during my high school career. But what’s different about this project. What’s got me so gung ho about this? Well, I’m focusing this project around something I can honestly say I’m very passionate about. Which I feel can drive you to accomplishing any dream. If you really care about it, why would you give up on it?
Who’s to say though? One day I can just wake up and trash this project like all the rest. But for now…
For now, I want to make this dream a reality…

I’ve been dead for a while, but here is some proof I’m still alive. Classes start up for me on the 23rd, and I’ll be taking art history, drawing 1, and figure drawing! It was really cool taking 2d design and learning about the elements and principles to apply to my pictures last semester though!!

So I’ve been drawing like a mad dog recently. I have just been hit with a sudden burst of inspiration. This summer, I swear, I have been so lax about everything and to be honest, it’s so nice to not have to be worried about anything. Not about school, and defiantly not about improving in art. I’m just taking advantage of this time to just enjoy it, which all of last year, for some reason… I couldn’t. I guess it was drilled into my head that junior year is the year, and if I didn’t improve then, then I would never be “good”. So I guess I felt like if I didn’t improve then, I never would.
Either way, those days are over. Since, I know I defiantly am not even close to being perfect. But I know now that I have my whole life ahead of me and I shouldn’t be so rushed. I guess this is just me “growing as an artist”. Either way, the picture to go with this post was some sketches I drew last night looking at some sprinters and of course football players. Why do I have such a fascination for football? (no not soccer, football!) My family is crazy for football! Football players and coaches everywhere! No not really, my little brother and cousin are football players, my cousin actually graduated in 2009 and now coaches freshmen players this year… so that counts right? OKAY ANYWAY, football players are really fun to draw, I just want to go to a game, and sit on the bench on the field and sketch some of their movements.
Speaking of which, just one more year and I can start going to life drawing classes! I was on the internet a while ago and looked for classes where minors were welcomed, but alas, only classes with nude models were being drawn so I have to be 18 I guess. But I can make due with google images. It’s a great tool for me whenever I try to get inspiration/anatomy. I’m also taking physiology next year… I can’t honestly say I can handle the human body… but in order to improve as an artist I must! (Dissecting a cat… well… I’m trying not to think about it…)
Okay that’s enough, I’m getting a little nauseous thinking about it…

(regarding the title) That song has been running through my head this whole time here at Saturday School in the Mac Lab. During which, I have been working on that ball picture, which, is taking forever… IT’S WORTH IT THOUGH. It’s turning out really well if I do say so myself. But now, the last… 30 minutes or so, I drew the picture in the thumbnail. It’s a football running back running for a touchdown! I’ve been obsessed with football recently, my family is a BIG football family (my little brother is playing in a few months for pop warner…) and sadly, I’ve only recently shared the love AFTER the superbowl… oopsie…
Either way. This is an update, so sorry there’s no cool art or anything up yet…

Today is the end of finals! I hope I did well in all my classes, I feel good about them, so all that matters.
Today was Digital Arts and History. I didn’t have to do any finals today which was amazing haha. Speaking in which, today was my last day in the mac lab. My chemistry class was dropped, so the only spot they could fit it was third period. It’s sad, but I will definitely be back next year.
I have some of the programs at home, specifically Photoshop CS4, which I have been working on nonstop today trying to finish that Ball picture.

Phew, just finished some last minute cramming for my first two finals tomorrow. It’s Algebra II and Chemistry, my hardest classes. Fate always puts my hardest classes in my fourth and seventh periods for some reason. Freshman year it was Biology and Pre-AP History, last year it was AP English and History, and now this year it’s the the two classes I dropped last year due to health reasons and… personal reasons.
Either way, Today (Monday January 25th, 2010) was presentation day for the Mac Lab. Not only did I forget to add my self assessment add my self assesement, I also forgot remembered to UPDATE ERGH YAY.
“I deserve a B because I followed instructions, have an up-to-date gallery (blog) publicly shown along with the fact a few of my things are in the galleries on the Mac Lab.”

Anyway, it’s my cousin’s birthday today, she’s sixteen now! Happy birthday, you!

Well there’s not much to write today.
I haven’t drawn as much recently due to school reasons and all I can show you is that beautiful screen shot of my WIP so far. Yes, that is gradient shading. It’s a true guilty pleasure of mine. I don’t know, most people I talk to say it’s a “lazy” way to shade, but it’s honestly taking me forever. His hair in total took the whole class period (55 minutes). Either way, the gradients appeal to my eye for some reason. I also discovered the joys of the “clipping mask”, which is my new best friend when it comes to coloring. It’s like a sublayer… but cooler. I thank DeviantART and it’s wonderful members for submitting wonderful tutorials.
Oh, also, the 2010 sketches section has been updated, you should check it out!~
